The hotel was beautiful the restaurants were good. The pools were nice. But I’m all if my travels all over the world, I have never received such horrible customer service. They didn’t have the type of room we had paid for available for us. The salesman lied as to what we would receive if you came to an hour presentation, that ended up being four hours. When a service was needed we would have to call multiple times to get someone to come. It took me four hours between three different days for the front desk to get my bill right for checkout. So over all even though the hotel is beautiful, we will never return because the customer service at the grand bliss was horrific.

Avoid getting trapped in their ‘UPDATE’ as they try to bully you into buying in more and telling you that your previous investment is worthless. It’s the 2nd time they do this to us and we will never attend any update irregardless of what they offer. Room and pool service was AMAZING however.

Their check in and out processes are ludicrous. WE not only had to run their sales gauntlet but had to fight for everything they had promised in writing on their confirmation. This includes the trip back to the airport. We have been here twice and it has gotten worse. We will never come here again even though the property is beautiful
REVIEW C. | 02/21/2018 9:50am
when we first got there they split our two bedroom and on the 3rd day we had a two bedroom with a view. It was worth the wait. But only happened after we said after they knew we were going on a tour.

The room that we stayed in was very musty/moldy smelling. It was intolerable. They tried to spray and placed something in the vents but it became worse. Also there was construction noise that went to late evening. This was not to the standards that we encountered previously at the Bliss. Came to find out we were given the worst room due to going through RCI rather than ownership. The staff overall was terrific and accommodating. Very high pressured sales force that kept you "forever" at sales presentation. I would avoid this t any cost or promise!! The pools are beautiful but not close to the Bliss.

very centrally located building on the property. 2BR was nice but not lavish. Brilliant marketing to make visitors feel 2nd class citizens if they are not GRAND LUXXE. I think the grand Bliss pool is the best on the property. except the Grand Mayan is the best for kids with the wave pool, lazy river and water slide. The LUXXE pools nice for seniors...heated and quite with minimal kids. Food generally good except La Cantina.

We will absolutely return to the Bliss. It is the quietest of the hotels at the resort. We loved the location, and it appears to require the least amount of points in which to exchange. You can use all the amenities of the other hotels which is great. The entire resort is fantastic: beautifully maintained and lush grounds, good restaurants, extremely friendly staff and a peaceful place to relax and enjoy a wonderful vacation. The only part we did not like was some pressure upon check-in to attend a presentation. We wanted to change into an ocean view room, and they said they would try to do this if we participated in the time share presentation...but there were no guarantees. Also, it would be great if the property had people from the resort holding your name up upon arrival. In not doing so, we were told the ride was delayed by 15 minutes, when in fact it was someone from another property trying to get us to attend their hotel's presentation.

THE REAL ESTATE PRESENTATION WAS VERY HIGH PRESSURE AND WAY OVER THE TOP! IT WAS A VERY UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE

This is a beautiful property - well maintained with lush gardens and wooden walkways throughout the property. All of the staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was cleaned and spotless every day. There are many restaurants on site but they are generally overpriced and of average quality. This year they have completely blocked off the road to the outside except for the long driveway into and out of the property. This is obviously to keep people within the property and make them eat at the onsite restaurants. It is even more complicated to get a cab. There are many small and excellent restaurants nearby but a cab is more expensive now because of the long drive out - it is quite ridiculous!! There were many unhappy guests about this issue. We walked on the beach to the Sea Garden or to the rock jetty at the end of the beach and went to the restaurants this way. We did take a cab to get groceries at Walmart. We tried the Chederaui store but didn't like it as well. As Registry Collection members we were always assured an ocean view room but this has changed as well - it seems you only get an ocean view if you are Vidanta members owners or you agree to attend a time share presentation. Watch out for the time share sales people - they are ruthless. Unless you actually want to go to a presentation for the gifts or percentage off your bill please avoid them and decline their offers. They say it will only take 90 minutes but - believe me - you will be there all day

Staff were insistent that we listen to their presentation, to the extent of being rude and threatening. We were told as RCI guests we would not be allowed to return unless we sat thru the presentation. We were later phoned to discuss our failure to partake the presentation. Property and staff are nice, access to off-site amenities are somewhat restricted, and sales efforts are extremely aggressive .
MICHAEL M. | 01/16/2016 1:44pm
Upon arrival our room was not ready and we waited at least one hour. Front desk staff were extremely aggressive in their efforts to offer us the opportunity to see their marketing presentation. At one point we were told we would not be welcome back as guests if we refused their offer. This behavior darkens an otherwise nice property with very attendant staff and facilities. The resort has tried to restrict access to the nearby marina area but you can access by walking down the public beach. Their marketing behavior is not something I am seeking for my vacation get away. I am perfectly capable of requesting the opportunity to invest in property if that is my desire after I have enjoyed myself, the facilities, and amenities.

The second day we were there upper management made the ridiculous decision to eliminate shuttle service from the Grand Bliss & Grand Mayan. I was very disappointed because I am still recovering from a hip replacement & walking around this large resort was extremely strenuous. I even heard several handicapped people say they would never come back because of this stupid decision to stop shuttle service.

We are a family of 4, 2 kids - ages 6 and 3. Overall, the facilities were beautifully maintained. The rooms were updated and excellent, the food was very good (even if the service was slow), and the beach was excellent. We stayed at in well appointed, 2 bedroom unit, which was fantastic. However, with all this praise, our overall review of our stay was mediocre. The staff seemed to lag behind the accommodations. Nothing terrible, mind you, but a consistent inability to make themselves invisible when needed and yet ready when needed. For example, our refrigerator broke on the first night and spoiled our milk overnight. In the morning, we called and the refrigerator was replaced within 15 mins. Amazing, right? When we asked for a $2 bottle of milk to replace the one we had bought just the day before, they were incapable of making it right. After a full day (when we had already replaced the milk), they asked us to bring them the receipt for the milk, the milk bottle, and fill out a 2 page incident report. They then refunded the cost of the milk. They took a little thing and made it a major annoyance. Then, every day after, they called around mid-day to ask "is everything okay?" A couple of other little things like this. So, while overall, the review is positive, the missteps of the management team will linger with us far longer than their otherwise excellent resort.

The Grand Bliss was fantastic. We brought 5 kids with us and everyone loved it. We can't wait to go back!
ROBERT W J. | 05/09/2015 5:47pm
Our initial arrival at the Grand Bliss was less than "Blissful." For starters, we waited until 6:30 pm to get the keys to our room and then it was directly across from a construction site. It was not so relaxing having morning coffee on the terrace with construction workers eyeing us. Upon check-in the room was filthy. The unit had obviously either not been rented for quite some time or housekeeping didn't do their job. There were several burned out lights and missing kitchen items. It seemed that housekeeping, prior to us entering the unit, went in and heavily sprayed some obnoxious deodorizer that actually burned our eyes. We slept with the windows open all night just to air it out. Other than the nightmarish room, the grounds, pools, and facilities are absolutely beautiful. The onsite restaurants are a bit pricey, but overall pretty good. We did not like the fact that they charge a daily fee for the in-room safe, but once we complained they comp'd it. We had some of the best massages ever at the Brio Spa! Helpful Hint - The front desk will try to charge you for internet service, but it is actually free to Registry Collection guests. YOU MUST ASK FOR THIS, otherwise they will try to charge you. If you hang out at the pool directly in front of the Bliss, play the goofy games that the attendants come around with. You can win a free buffet breakfast, which is wonderful. Something like a $25 value.

Sheets never changed, as the week progressed we got less and less towels. Check out at 10am with maid used her pass key at 9:30 and just walked in and said are you not leaving!!! Check in at 5pm check out at 10am this is 1 2 a day I am loosing half a day that I pay for.

Beautiful property that has everything from beaches to pools to very good restaurants.
REVIEW C. | 02/26/2015 4:32pm
The grounds of this resort are truly impressive. However, the rooms are designed more for visual impact than practicality for longer term stays. The fridges are only hotel-room style bar fridges. There is only a cooktop...no oven. The kitchenette is minimally equipped with virtually no where to store purchased groceries. Likewise there is limited storage space in the bedrooms for clothes once you have unpacked....very strange because the rooms are massive with plenty of space for a dresser or chairs.
REVIEW C. | 02/11/2015 3:42pm
The Grand Bliss is a beautiful property. The location is central to everything at the resort. Check out process is a bit slow but this is a quiet and smaller part of the hotel so the service was generally excellent. The time share sales people continue to be intrusive but we were direct with them and told them we didn't want to be bothered or do a presentation this time and they were mostly fine. There is something for everyone at this resort. We enjoyed the activities staff; they did yoga
REVIEW C. | 02/10/2015 2:58pm
Resort was lovely and within walking distance or $5 cab ride to off site amenities, including restaurants and Walmart Mega. We went to one on-site restaurant, Havanna Moon, but found it very expensive, service not great and food only average, so went off site for all of our dinners after that. Otherwise, our holiday there was excellent, and we would definitely go back. One complaint - they snuck in a 200 peso ($20) 'donation' to children onto our check out bill and would not have told us about it.
REVIEW C. | 12/01/2014 4:22pm
They are currently renovating rooms on the top floor with related construction noise while on the balcony. The property is very lush and beautiful, but also large and the pools and other services can be a distance from the hotel.

Rooms are very humid. Bedding and clothing end up feeling moist. Also no hot water in the 1 bedroom lock-out and in kitchen and master bedroom only after running shower.

The room we were first given at check in was unacceptable. The view was a wall and roof top. I questioned they said just very full & all they had. I explained that I had never received such a suite when exchanging through the Registry before. We checked in and the next day I took my exchange to the reception desk showing that a room had bee assigned and if not available I should receive something comparable. Suddenly, they had a room available to move to the next day. View was much better.
