LOVED our stay at Vallarta Gardens. It is in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle.a fishing village west of Bucerias. We were nervous trying a new resort in a new town. We were not disappointed. We stayed in Casa Karma. The villa is large with 4 bedrooms, 4 1 2 baths, pool and rooftop deck. You are so close to the beach and the views are amazing. The staff are so friendly. Our only complaint was they didn't wash our dishes in the villa. We've always had these done at other resorts. Oh well. The walk along the beach to La Cruz is easy and maybe 10 minutes. La Cruz has the largest market, on Sundays, that we have ever been too. It is a must visit. Lots of great restaurants in town, as well as a great taco stand. If you take a taxi it was just 120 pesos for 8 of us to town. Just outside of the resort is an OXXO a small gas station market. Bucerias is an easy drive and only 200 pesos for 8 of us. Sayulita is a fun place to visit as well and prices for goods to take home are 1 2 the price of Bucerias and PV. 300 pesos for a small group each way. The airport is 30 minutes. The resort arranges transportation on arrival. Our return was 350 pesos for a small taxi and 700 pesos for a large taxi. Recommendations - Red Dolphin Sailing in La Cruz, Masala, La Peska and Frascati's. Hire the chef for dinner in one night in your villa. The resort makes arrangements. Food was so good. In Bucerias, try Bici Bikes' Food and Bike tour and eat at Karen's Place. Enjoy.

Well maintained property, very quiet, if you are looking for activities on site such as games, water aerobics etc there is none. Very relaxing

Vallarta Gardens villas are in general very nice and comfortable. We got 'upgraded' and our villa had a roof top terraza with a pool and barbeque. Would have liked if the kitchen were better equipped and housekeeping did a better job cleaning the floors.. The towels had seen better days. We thought it was very handy to have a restaurant at the club house, specially if you didn't feel like driving looking for a place to eat.And you can get room service and service at the pool too. The location of Vallarta Gardens is not around the corner from shops and restaurants. It is advisable to rent a car if you want to visit other towns, or just go to Puerto Vallarta, which is a happening city. The staff in general was very nice, respectful and helpful. We went at the end of April, it was very quiet, not busy and the weather was fabulous! Don't expect the beaches of Playa del Carmen, but the property does have a small beach front.

Nice room, we had a 2br, just right for the 2 of us. Nice grounds. Very nice service at the restaurant, but they closed at 4pm. We loved where the propert sits. A very nice quiet vacation for me and my wife, but I would not bring my kids here compared to our other vacations. The down side, and this really bothered us, was the water temperatures. As another review noted, our tiny dipping pool was extremely cold, and not at all usable. The main pool, was a very shocking temp, but once in, wasn't to bad. The weather was perfect, and I would have given a 5 star except for the pool tempatures, but we really did enjoy our stay

Vallarta gardens is a wonderful place to vacation. The property is beautiful and well maintained. It has private beaches , great swimming pool and the villa we stayed in was excellent. The staff there is outstanding - from our concierge , Estefania, to the waiters ,Jose and Abraham,in the restaurant to the overall management and Director of Operations , Jesus, we felt welcomed and very privilege to be there as their guest. For leisure and relaxation it is a great place to spend tour vacation

We stayed in the 4-bedroom villa. All that can be said is "WOW". Absolutely beautiful and spotlessly clean. Not sure why the previous reviewer had an issue with the coolness of the pool water. It's Mexico, how cold can the water possibly get? The only negative to this property is that there is not much to do. Very small beach. But there are plenty of places to see and do outside Vallarta Gardens. Great visit!

Pools were not heated, including our private pool, not swimable due to coolness of the water.. Other than that the accomodations were very nice. Our 4BR Villa was great.--Ted S.
